Time-Honored Goods is an independent editorial archive — and, in time, a small store — for goods from China's time-honored houses (老字号).
How we work
Each house entry names its source. Historical facts and designation records are taken from public archives, principally the China Time-honored Brand Digital Museum of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). Where a claim cannot be verified, we say so rather than smooth it over.
We write in English for readers outside China who want to understand what a thing actually is and where it comes from — not to dress it up.
